Koh Phangan is flat around the coastline and has good roads. It becomes more mountainous towards the center of the island. Mountain trekking, with or without elephants, is very popular and there are various mountain trails you can follow. The eastside of the island offers many beautiful sandy beaches. The north of Koh Phangan is very quiet and consists of fisherman villages like Chaloklum and Mae Haad.
In the south of Koh Phangan is "Haad Rin Nok". This is the most popular spot on the island and well known for it's vibrant night life.Haad Rin is dotted with bars and clubs that open most nights un till late. On full moon Haad Rin becomes the the center of the party world when 30000 people are attending the biggest party in the world!
The best place to stay is Baan Tai for the quiet time of the night and go to Haad Rin only to party.
